Fashion Week is not only a showcase for big, established brands, but it is also an important springboard for new, emerging designers. Among this year’s top newcomers for the 2022 spring-summer season is our Fashion Design student, Jenny Yohana Kansil. The Indonesian designer showed the collection of her brand JYK during the first day of Fashion Week at the wonderful Palazzo Visconti:  it was a great success and she amazed the audience with her creations.

Jenny’s collection blends a 70s punk inspiration with the Indonesian tradition of batik fabric. The theme is “Revolutionary Hope”: the woman who wears JYK has the positive attitude of being able to adapt to the dramatic changes in life, combined with the sustainability of natural fabrics such as raw silk, organza silk and plant-based cotton and leather.
