As per tradition, the end-of-year fashion show in June featured the students of the Burgo School, who brought to Milan “Neostalgia,” a theme that blends past memories with a forward-looking perspective on the changes unfolding in society and the world.
Fashion Design and Professional Tailoring students from Burgo’s Italian and international campuses reinterpreted 1940s Neorealism through fresh eyes, balancing aesthetics and emotion.
The collections explored the era’s dual spirit: on one hand, the discipline of feminine military style inspired by women facing everyday life while men were at the front; on the other, the glamour of cinema divas, with soft silhouettes, sensual cuts, and refined details — all reimagined with a modern and mindful approach.
Luxury materials, handcrafted techniques, and a palette inspired by the Spring/Summer 2026 trends — ranging from dusty neutrals and military greens to brighter hues — brought to life garments that express an imperfect yet authentic beauty. Cut-outs and intricate embroidery paid homage to iconic pieces of the past.
Neostalgia is a play on words, but also a generational vision: a way to look at the past with new eyes, to dress in memory without giving up experimentation and timeless elegance.
